Bibby Renaissance has accommodated workers at the Chevron-operated Gorgon Project, the largest single resource development in Australian history, for over three years. Renaissance arrived on Barrow Island in 2011 and offered an accommodation solution for a remote project with a large workforce. Renaissance offered a self-contained, self-sufficient facility for workers on the island. Comprised of 332 bedrooms, a large restaurant, kitchen, bar, gym, laundry and recreation rooms. The vessel is category 4 cyclone resistant and fully air conditioned producing a comfortable living experience in warm environments such as Australia.

Barrow Island is one of the world’s largest natural gas developments in a distant location, 60 km off the coast of Western Australia. Quarantine measures are applied on the island to help protect Barrow’s natural wildlife and biodiversity from non-native species. The island is home to many plants and animals – which are endangered or considered rare on the mainland. Barrow island remains sustainable and an example of how the natural environment and industrial landscape can both safely exist.

With specialist knowledge in accommodation, marine aspects and project logistics, our Australian office has experience in providing accommodation successfully to large projects around the world.
