Bibby Marine is delighted to announce its collaboration with heavy-duty battery systems expert Echandia – to drive forward its goal of bringing a clean vessel to the water.

This new partnership will bring together Echandia’s innovative battery solutions with Bibby Marine’s experience as vessel owners and operators, and influencers of the maritime energy transition.

Bibby Marine CEO Nigel Quinn said: “Bibby Marine is working towards Maritime 2050 Net Zero goals – we strive to be the UK’s clean and most committed Service Operation Vessel (SOV) operator, and we aim to operate a low or no carbon emission vessel by 2026.

“We are delighted to collaborate with Echandia, who are leading the market in developing cutting edge heavy-duty battery solutions and this is the natural progression of our decarbonisation journey. We look forward to taking the next steps of realising our net zero goals.”

Fredrik Hellström, CEO Echandia: “This collaboration represents a significant step forward in the journey towards reducing carbon emissions in the maritime sector. It also stands as a substantial acknowledgment of the excellence and adaptability of our battery systems.
